Winter Rye

Posted on 25th September 2012 in Uncategorized

Helllllloooooooooooooooooooooooo Fall! It’s time to work on next year’s garden bed already! As you pull up this year’s plants, throw down a cover crop (winter rye) to keep the soil in place over winter. Run it over with the lawn mower near the end of October, so seed heads don’t form. Then in March and April, it’ll grow some. Then you can cut it again and till it in to feed the soil!
